Greetings friends,
Thanks for visiting my website. My passion is to help young women of color remove financial barriers as it relates to collegiate expenses by helping students to obtain scholarships, grants, from public and private donors. I realized that it takes a village of knowledge to help young students to succeed in their educational pursuits. My goal is to provide college information to help parents and students to be fully equipped with the college application process, scholarship preparation, writing tips, and free funding available to families in need of financial help.
As a minority woman, I realize the obstacles associated with financial barriers while also realizing that it is possible to matriculate throughout the college journey with the right financial literacy and mentorship. In my spare time, I facilitate lectures to parents, local churches, and high school students on college tips to increase the college acceptance of African American students. This brings me joy to receive a call that a student was selected. I have spent the last five years participating in local fundraising efforts to help notable young women pay for college expenses including the National Association for the Advancement Colored People.
In 2020, I launched a virtual Diversity Equity Scholarship series that provides African American high schoolers and parents on college preparedness. This virtual venture was a success as it helped over fifty students with obtaining scholarships, state grants, stimulus grants, and academic strategies to improve their college matriculation experience.
A little bit about my background, I am a proud alumna of DePaul University and Concordia University Chicago. I am a dedicated wife and mother of two college-educated sons. My favorite quote which was taught to me by my mother and is taken from an old African proverb “It takes a village.” I am a woman of faith and deliverance, who believes in family, the power of prayer, and a believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
